Formed in 2007, Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL) is an alliance of 200 local-national-international development and civil society organizations. This alliance works with an aim to ensure sustainable rural livelihoods in the country by putting special focus on climate change, agriculture and trade.

Climate Hearing at Sunderban

January 16 2009, representatives from all the member organization of the alliance met at the BIAM Auditorium in Dhaka for 2 days long Annual General Meeting to share their opinion, success stories and learning. its plan of action for 2010. Dr. Ahsan Uddin Ahmed, the new Convener of the Alliance opened the ceremony by presenting a overview of activities for 2009. On the last day of UNFCC climate negotiation, thousands of people gathered at the edge of Sundarban in the Satkhira District of Bangladesh, demanding immediate action by rich and industrialized countries to save the world largest mangrove forest and protect the livelihood of millions of poor people in the country. Frustrated by the inaction and attempt by the industrialized countries to ignore the demand of poor and vulnerable people, Oxfam and its local partners along with a local resident organized a climate hearing. Book Launch: Climate Change and Livelihoods

As a part of Regional hearing of Barind Campaign Area, nearly 50 Adibashi (indigenous community members) men gathered in Kakon Hat, a small village near the North easterner Bangladesh with Bows and Arrows to hunt for their targeted goal of a binding, fair and just climate deal. After a colourful traditional dance of hunting, they shoot at the targets with demands including "45% reduction of emission by 2050," " 1.5% of the GDP for Adaptation" and "Open Borders for Climate Refugee" .
